About Mitchel Sawhney, Founder The Whisky Club & TWC11

Mitchel Sawhney has been a connoisseur and collector of Scotch Whisky for decades.  He is known to have one of the world's largest collections of 40 year old expressions of one or his favorite Distilleries in Scotland (hint: it's peaty).   Mitchel's  unique palate and passion for  Scotch and International Whiskies as well as  popularity of Bourbon and Rye in the United States has led to the foundation of The Whisky Club.  The Sawhney's are hopeful Mitchel's breath of knowledge, appreciation and enthusiasm for whiskies, unique tasting room concept and bottle shop on Alvarado Street in Downtown Monterey California lead to other fun endeavors and experiences for novices and aficionados of whiskies on the Monterey Peninsula and beyond!

The Whisky Club and TWC11 were established during the Covid-19 Pandemic and survived a 2 year delay to establishing the business--including changing locations, transferring ABC licenses, building out and constructing a new space, etc.  What was to open Spring of 2020 was delayed until Spring of 2022 due to Covid moratoriums and delays.  Yes, it's a great thing there is much passion (as well as dedicated knowledge and consistency) behind TWC.

While some things are uncertain in life, enjoying a great Scotch, Bourbon or Whisk(e)y  has stood the test of time.  It is the intention of the founders that TWC 11 will grow  in numerous ways, with the goal to always provide a sophisticated experience focused on whiskies for novices and connoisseurs alike.  Thank you for visiting The Whisky Club and please continue to follow our pages, including Facebook and Instagram, for up-to-date and recent additional offerings and opportunities for an unique approach to  appreciating and experiencing unique and wonderful whiskies, amidst other spirits,  from around the world.
